I read once that the average date Americans abandon their New Year’s Resolutions is February 17th. Well guess what today is.
Last month many of us made New Year’s Resolutions. And by now, many of us have forgotten them. I made my own resolutions this year, 10 goals that seemed so important a mere 48 days ago. But honestly, when I sat down to write this post, I couldn’t even remember them all. Hmmm, if I can’t remember my oh so important resolutions, I can’t imagine that I’m still working to accomplish them. And sure enough, when I revisited my list of resolutions, I realized my success rate is hitting at only about 30%.
I’m a 70% New Year’s Resolution failure.
But I’m not giving up hope. Maybe this reevaluation is the push I needed to refresh my memory as well as my resolve.
So I’m trying again. After all, I still have 316 days left to increase my success rate. I’d like to be at least 50% successful. I have no shame in being half a failure.
How are you doing on your New Year’s Resolutions?
It is understandable to lose sight in the resolutions because you only give yourself what a whole 24hrs to choose them and the only a year to get them done, haha! That is why I am so in love with the 101 in 1001.. Its perfect for me! š I have been able to knock out 6 items already! Have a good day!
It's easy. I don't make them so I don't have to stress out over breaking them!
Yes, I can relate to this timeframe as an onlooker really – every year at my gym, I dread Jan 1st. Simply because this is the start of a couple of months of time when it becomes almost impossible for me to get through my gym routine in my usual allotted timeframe! The place is swarming with newcomers with resolutions. Gradually it wanes, & by Feb/March, I guess the majority have disappeared. But I suppose at least they stuck with it for a good few weeks, so they should at least take something positive from their efforts!
This year I resolved to do better at recycling at home. We don't have recycling facilities in our apartment complex, & our town has no public recycling site. So recycling is a challenge for me. The most workable solution for me has been to literally take my recycling to work every day! A pain indeed, but it's becoming a habit now, so it's definitely manageable!
LOVE your blog design!! I didn't make any resolutions this year… I thought about it but never did it! LOL!! New follower and liker : )

I didn't make any, so I guess I'm a success.
this year i did not make any. i did not want the stress. I am looking forward to weekly round up in the morning.
Yeah most of my resolutions are basic things I just try to do better on year round, every year so they're goin' okay I spose.
I hate making resolutions because they just mock me when I break them immediately. I'd rather make anti-resolutions so I know I can succeed. Like eat more chocolate and less vegetables. Bathe less and use more deodorant. Those are about my speed.
I don't make resolutions. Partly because I'm lazy, but also because I find I'm limited in what I believe I can achieve.
