Yes, I realize this is one of my cheesier Top 10 lists.  But my 10th wedding anniversary is this week, and my husband is not here to celebrate with me.  So I think I have the right to be cheesy!  Here are my…

Top 10 Reasons Why I Love My Husband
10) He can fix just about anything.
9) He watches “Desperate Housewives” and chick flicks with me, and even though in return I have to watch war series and movies like “The Pacific” and “Das Boot,” he makes me realize the value in watching in them.
8)  He is one of the most intelligent people I know.
7) His self-confidence and determination breed those qualities in me.
6)  He is my voice of reason when I need it, and my voice of adventure when I don’t.
5)  He serves our country proudly.
4) He is supportive of most of the crazy things I want to do.  (Unfortunately, I don’t think he’ll EVER support my desire to own a ferret.)
3) He gave me our 2 amazing children.
2)  He is a loving, involved, wonderful father.
1)  He is the yin to my yang.  He balances me.  In our case, opposites truly attract.

  1. Cute post.

As far as the ferret thing…we had one in my house growing up. It belonged to my sister. It was a total delight. Problem is, they are terribly smelly, go in a litter box like a cat and can get stuck in small dangerous spaces. Really small. Like inside the refrigerator workings. In the end, it was worth it, but my sister didn't take care of it and we found a new home for her.

  2. Awww, so sweet!! I am right there with you with the balance, my hubby is my balance as well!! And he and I complement each other beautifully =)

  3. HAHA I can relate to a lot of the things you listed, but #4 is so totally us too! I have ALWAYS wanted a ferret… and he had already lived with one before and does NOT want to do it again. Who knows, we might win that battle one day 🙂

  4. My spotted your post on ohAmanda, and asked me if I'd worked my way that far down the list. I hadn't yet, but I knew as soon as she read off your list, that I had to come find you. But you beat me too it, and followed me first! 🙂 Ty, btw.

After being in a horrible marriage, I'm now finally with a functional man, and we'll be celebrating our 1st anniversary June 13th. Except that we won't really be. We're waiting until he comes home in October. He's overseas for a yearlong, and is missing both our birthdays, our oldest daughter's (from my first marriage) birthday, and our first anniversary.

I'm just grateful he was able to take his mid-tour during the birth of our daughter Easter this year.

  5. #1 and #4 could be in my list, too!

I am the wild, loud, crazy one. He's more calm and level headed. BUT, on the rare occasion he flips his sanity lid, then I'm the voice of reason. We are definitely prime examples of the whole opposites attract thing.

    Lovely post.
