I woke up this morning and realized I didn’t have a blog post planned.  I usually take the weekends off and then have plenty to write about for Monday’s blog post.  But today, I’m uninspired.
I used to blog every day.  Then I tried for 5 days a week.  Now I’m lucky if I post 4 times a week.  Life is busier than ever, and all those great ideas I have in the shower or in the car somehow disappear the second I sit down at the computer.  Then there are days like today when I’m so busy that I’ve only been home for about 30 minutes total.  And quite frankly, there are about a gagillion other things I should be doing right now instead of typing away.
So what do you do on those days when you have absolutely nothing to write about?  How often do you post on your blog?  Do you blog when you know you should be doing other things?

  1. Funny you should post this today, because I was completely uninspired, too. I was trying to think of something really clever to write about, but nothing came to mind, so I wrote about something real going on in my life right now. I try to post five days a week, but since I'm trying this new approach to blogging now, I don't know how often I'll post. I want to start blogging because I want to write about something important to me, not because I need people to come to my blog every day or because there's some Monday-Friday carnival I have to participate in. (Sorry to hijack your comment, this has just been on my mind lately!)

  2. See for me its not even a busy life its that I just am not feeling it. My blogging desire has run out and is just kind of void. I know its because my mind and emotions are so consumed by other things but it doesn't make me feel any better. Blech.

  3. Ugh…..seriously….this is EXACTLY where I am today. I've sat in front of the computer throughout the day today, with NOTHING to blog about! NOTHING! At least you used your NOTHING to blog about, and blogged about it!

  4. I usually have something cooking up. I carry a notebook with me so I can write questions and things down for when my husband calls and I write blog ideas in the back of the notebook. I try to limit myself to one or two posts a day. My house is a disaster area, yet my blog is neat and tidy. 🙂

  5. Well, it looks like I've come to the right place. I usually post every Wednesday and Sunday, with Sundays being a humorous (or not) recap of news stories that caught my eye that week. Lately, I've also found myself "creatively constipated." There seems to be a lot of it going around. Nice to know I'm not alone.

  6. Don't worry about blogging; that is, writing for others to read it. Just write. Find a picture, something random for inspiration, and spend 10 minutes putting your thoughts about it onto paper. Don't think about grammar, structure, spelling, your audience, or anything. It'll take the pressure off of having to create a product, and you'll still be a writer.

  7. I've noticed that once the husbands come home it's more difficult to keep up with the blog. I try to post about 3 times a week. I say don't stress over it too much. We all know that you have quite a bit going on right now. 🙂
